01

Scope and who we are

This Privacy Policy applies to websites, account areas, study tools, forms, emails, support interactions, and other online services operated by Orbait LLC that link to this Policy (collectively, the “Services”). In this Policy, “Orbait,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Orbait LLC, a Connecticut limited liability company.

This Policy does not apply to websites, applications, or services operated independently by third parties, even when Orbait links to them. Their privacy practices are governed by their own notices.

Information you choose to provide

Some information is optional. For example, Orbait may ask when your exam is scheduled, which topics feel difficult, or which state you are preparing in so that study reminders and recommendations can be more relevant. You should not submit sensitive personal information that is not needed for the Services.

Information received from third parties

We may receive information from providers that help process payments, deliver email, host the Services, prevent fraud, measure performance, provide customer support, or operate integrations. The information received is generally limited to what is needed to provide or protect the Services.

03

How we use information

Orbait may use personal information to:

  • Create, authenticate, maintain, and secure user accounts.
  • Process purchases, apply access permissions, manage memberships, and maintain transaction records.
  • Deliver quizzes, simulations, explanations, learning activities, progress reports, and other purchased features.
  • Personalize study recommendations, reminders, emails, and the order in which features or content are presented.
  • Respond to questions, support requests, refund requests, feedback, and account issues.
  • Send transactional messages, such as receipts, access confirmations, password resets, security notices, and service updates.
  • Send educational or promotional communications where permitted, subject to your communication choices.
  • Measure performance, troubleshoot problems, develop features, and improve usability and content quality.
  • Detect fraud, abuse, unauthorized sharing, security incidents, and violations of our terms.
  • Comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and protect Orbait, users, and others.
Data minimization: Orbait aims to collect and use information that is reasonably necessary for the purpose described, rather than collecting information simply because it is technically possible.
04

Learning, progress, and exam-planning data

Orbait is an educational exam-preparation platform. To provide progress tracking and targeted practice, the Services may record your answers, scores, attempts, completed activities, study history, and performance by topic. We may also derive indicators—such as topics that may need additional practice—from this activity.

If you provide an exam date, state, preferred track, or areas of difficulty, Orbait may use those details to organize your study experience and send reminders or educational messages. These details are intended to support preparation; they are not official examination records and are not sent to state licensing agencies unless you separately direct us to do so.

Orbait does not make licensing, employment, credit, insurance, or other legally significant decisions about users based on quiz performance or study activity.
05

AI-assisted features

Orbait may offer AI-assisted learning features, including explanations, study guidance, question support, weak-area analysis, or conversational assistance. Information you submit to an AI-assisted feature, together with relevant learning context, may be processed to generate a response and operate the feature.

  • Do not enter Social Security numbers, payment-card numbers, medical information, employer secrets, or other unnecessary sensitive information into AI prompts or support fields.
  • AI-generated responses may be incorrect or incomplete and should not replace official manuals, labels, regulations, agency instructions, or professional judgment.
  • Where an external AI or infrastructure provider processes information on Orbait’s behalf, we use provider arrangements intended to support service delivery, confidentiality, and security.
Orbait may review limited interactions when reasonably necessary to investigate errors, prevent abuse, improve feature quality, or provide support. We do not claim that AI-generated content is an official licensing determination.
06

Cookies, analytics, and similar technologies

Orbait and providers working on our behalf may use cookies, local storage, pixels, log files, and similar technologies. Some are necessary for login, checkout, account security, preferences, and core platform functions. Others help us understand site usage, diagnose errors, measure performance, or evaluate communications.

Category Typical purpose Can it be limited?
Essential Authentication, security, checkout, account sessions, load balancing, and remembering required preferences. These are generally necessary for requested Services to function.
Functional Remembering optional preferences and improving convenience across visits. Browser controls may limit these, but some features may not work as expected.
Analytics and performance Understanding traffic, feature usage, page performance, errors, and general engagement. Availability of opt-out controls depends on the tools enabled and applicable law.
Communications measurement Determining whether service or educational emails were delivered, opened, or interacted with. You may unsubscribe from promotional email; transactional email remains necessary for account services.

You can adjust browser settings to block or delete cookies. Blocking essential cookies may prevent login, checkout, progress tracking, or other features from working correctly. Where required, Orbait will provide additional consent or preference tools.

07

When we disclose information

We may disclose personal information in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers: hosting, security, payment processing, email delivery, support, analytics, automation, AI infrastructure, database, and technical providers that perform services for Orbait.
  • Payment processing: transaction and billing information is shared with Stripe and related payment-network participants as necessary to process and protect payments.
  • Legal and safety reasons: when reasonably necessary to comply with law, legal process, government requests, enforce agreements, investigate misconduct, or protect rights, safety, and security.
  • Business transactions: in connection with a financing, merger, acquisition, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar transaction, subject to appropriate confidentiality and legal protections.
  • At your direction: when you ask us to share information or clearly consent to a specific disclosure.
  • Aggregated or de-identified information: information that does not reasonably identify you may be used or disclosed for analytics, research, reporting, and service improvement.

Service providers are permitted to process information for the services they provide to Orbait and are subject to contractual, technical, or legal responsibilities appropriate to their role.

08

Sale of personal information and targeted advertising

Orbait does not sell personal information for money. As of the “Last updated” date above, Orbait does not use personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising or disclose it in a manner that we understand to constitute a “sale” or “sharing” for targeted advertising under generally applicable U.S. state privacy laws.

If our practices change, we will update this Policy and provide any legally required opt-out method. Where applicable, Orbait will also recognize qualifying browser-based universal opt-out signals, such as Global Privacy Control, when the technology and law require it.

This statement should be reviewed before Orbait enables advertising pixels, remarketing audiences, cross-site behavioral advertising, or data-sharing arrangements used for targeted advertising.
09

How long we retain information

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, maintain accounts, preserve learning records requested by users, complete transactions, comply with tax and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent abuse, maintain security, and satisfy legal requirements.

Retention periods vary by data type. For example, active account and progress information may remain while an account is open; transaction records may be retained longer for financial and legal compliance; and short-lived security logs may be deleted or overwritten sooner. When information is no longer reasonably needed, we may delete, de-identify, or securely isolate it, subject to backup cycles and legal obligations.

10

Data security

Orbait uses administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. Measures may include encrypted connections, access controls, authentication, security monitoring, backups, software updates, restricted administrative access, and reputable infrastructure providers.

No online service can guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for using a strong, unique password, protecting access to your email account and devices, and notifying us promptly if you believe your Orbait account has been compromised.

11

Your privacy choices and rights

Depending on where you live and subject to legal exceptions, you may have rights concerning personal information, including the ability to:

  • Confirm whether Orbait processes your personal information and request access to it.
  • Correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Request deletion of eligible personal information.
  • Receive a portable copy of certain personal information you provided.
  • Opt out of sale, targeted advertising, or certain profiling if Orbait engages in those practices and the right applies.
  • Appeal a denial of a qualifying privacy request where applicable law provides an appeal right.
  • Withdraw consent for processing based on consent, subject to legal and operational limitations.

How to submit a request

Email support@orbait.com with the subject line Privacy Request, or use the Contact page. Describe the right you want to exercise and provide the email address associated with your Orbait account.

We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. Authorized agents may be required to provide proof of authorization, and we may still need to verify the user directly. We will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.

Email choices

Promotional or educational emails will include an unsubscribe method where required. You may still receive transactional messages necessary to operate your account, deliver purchases, reset passwords, provide security notices, or respond to support requests.

Account deletion

You may request account deletion through the contact methods above. Deletion may remove access, learning history, saved progress, and other account features. Certain transaction, fraud-prevention, security, or legal records may be retained as permitted or required by law.

12

Children’s privacy

Orbait is designed for individuals preparing for professional pesticide-applicator examinations and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to Orbait, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

Users who are under the age of legal majority where they live should use the Services only with the involvement and permission of a parent or legal guardian and in accordance with applicable examination and licensing rules.

13

Third-party services and links

Orbait relies on third parties for functions such as payment processing, hosting, security, email delivery, analytics, support, automation, and AI-assisted features. These providers may process information under their own privacy notices and their agreements with Orbait.

The Services may also link to pesticide agencies, testing providers, manuals, external resources, or other websites that Orbait does not control. Review the privacy and security practices of those third parties before submitting information to them.

14

International visitors

Orbait is based in the United States and primarily serves users preparing for U.S. pesticide-applicator certification. If you access the Services from another country, your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States or other locations where Orbait’s service providers operate. Privacy laws in those locations may differ from the laws where you live.

Where additional rights or transfer requirements apply, you may contact us using the methods below. Use of the Services does not itself establish that Orbait offers products in every jurisdiction.

15

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Policy to reflect changes in technology, features, service providers, legal requirements, or business practices. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. If a change is material, we may provide additional notice through the Services, by email, or through another reasonable method.

Your continued use of the Services after an updated Policy becomes effective is subject to the updated Policy, except where applicable law requires a different form of notice or consent.
